With every new product that it unveils, Xiaomi proves that it is constantly outdoing itself. Now, the company’s newly launched ‘Mi Robot Vacuum’ is another testament to that. NDTV reports that developed by Mi Ecosystem company Rockrobo, the device is equipped with the company’s in-house developed Laser Distance Sensor, which can scan its surroundings across 360 degrees, 1,800 times per second. According to Xiaomi, the system is similar to the laser guidance system on self-driving cars. Further, the Mi Robot Vacuum uses three dedicated sensors for real-time mapping and positioning, apart from Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping (SLAM) algorithms, all of which help it recognise the best path to take while cleaning.
In addition, the device comes with 12 sensors, including an ultrasonic radar sensor, a cliff sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, and like other Mi Ecosystem products, is integrated with Xiaomi’s Mi Home app.
